Divisions at a Glance

Board of Trustees and Office of the President

Kenyon is led by the president and Board of Trustees with guidance from senior staff. As ambassadors for the College, this distinguished group is responsible for upholding the mission and philosophy conceived by our founders, while strategically guiding our institution through present and future opportunities in higher education. The president and board are fiduciary officers of the College and Kenyon's representatives to the world at large. The Office of the President also oversees the Civil Rights, Campus Events, Community Partnerships, and Ombuds Offices.

Academic Division

The provost and associate provosts oversee the academic division of the College. Through academic departments, advisory committees for interdisciplinary programs, and other standing committees, the faculty determines the content of the curriculum, the various manners in which courses may be conducted, the standards for measuring student performance, the requirements for degrees, and all other matters bearing directly on the academic program. Students can choose from thirty five majors within traditional academic departments, as well as from majors or concentrations within thirteen interdisciplinary programs. Faculty members and academic administrators are authors, artists and researchers, immersed in scholarly and creative projects, but they are classroom teachers first and foremost, committed to making stimulating opportunities available to students.

Advancement Division

The Advancement Division generates funding through gifts and grants to support all areas of the College. They also organize reunion programming for alumni, gatherings for affinity groups and other social events for past, present and future Kenyon families.

Communications

The Office of Communications shares information about Kenyon, its people and its programs with audiences both external and internal. The office is responsible for overseeing the production of numerous publications and electronic communications, working closely with admissions, advancement and other departments and offices across the College.

Enrollment Division

The Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid help prospective students navigate admissions processes. They provide assistance in applying, host on-campus and alumni interviews, lead campus tours, organize visit days and overnights, and assist with financial aid packages. Making Kenyon accessible to students from all backgrounds is the foundation of the College's financial aid philosophy. 80% of Kenyon students receive some form of financial aid, with awards recognizing both need and achievement.

Finance Division

The Finance Division handles various financial and people functions for Kenyon including human resources, accounting, grants management, inventory, payroll, purchasing, and student accounts. The division also manages compliance with all financial and employee regulations.

Library and Information Services

Library and Information Services (LBIS) supports the academic mission of the College by providing access to library and computing resources, facilities and information essential for teaching, learning, research and general scholarship. LBIS is organized into five departments — Library Services, Institutional Research, Enterprise Systems, Enterprise Infrastructure, and User Services — and is responsible for preserving physical and online library collections and for providing access to them. LBIS also maintains the infrastructure, facilities and resources of the campus network, computing labs and computing services.

Operations Division

Operations encompasses the offices that generate retail revenue and provide day-to-day operations for the College. This includes the Kenyon College Bookstore, mailroom and printing services, the Departments of Maintenance and Design and Construction, third party vendors, AVI Dining Services, and business services.
