Basic Life Insurance through the Standard Insurance Company

Kenyon provides basic life insurance to benefits eligible employees in the amount of one times base salary, rounded to the next highest thousand. Voluntary insurance up to $500,000 for employees, $250,000 for spouses or domestic partners, and $10,000 for children are also available. The benefit amount is adjusted to reflect annual increases.


Participation begins on your date of employment if hired the first day of the month.  If hired mid-month, participation begins the first of the month following your hire date. 

NOTE: This plan has been described here in a general manner. Your benefits are more fully described in the Certificates of Coverage linked on the right side of this page. In case of a conflict or omission, the provisions of the coverage certificate will govern.

Voluntary Life and Personal Accident Insurance through the Standard Insurance Company

Participation is optional and cost varies by employee. Kenyon pays up to $2.00 per month/$24.00 per year toward any additional premium for employee individual voluntary coverage.

Benefit amounts are listed in the brochure below. Coverage amounts above the guaranteed issue amount are available to employees, spouses/domestic partners, and dependent(s) on the same rate basis with evidence of insurability.

To enroll in a Voluntary Life policy and/or a Personal Accident policy, visit our Forms Page and return the applicable enrollment application(s) to the Office of Human Resources within 31 days of eligibility.
