Vehicle Security

Kenyon College assumes no responsibility or liability for a motor vehicle or its contents while parked or operated on Kenyon property. The following are a few tips to improve your safety and vehicle security.

  • Ensure your vehicle is secured: doors locked, windows rolled up, and the alarm activated (if applicable).
  • Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. This includes electronics, jewelry, money or any item of value to you.
  • Have your vehicle registered with Campus Safety.
  • If coming from or going to your vehicle late in the evening, do not walk alone; walk with a friend, or call Campus Safety at 740-427-5221 for a walking escort.

EV charging spaces on campus are strictly to charge the vehicle, and it must be moved once the vehicle is fully charged so that others may use the charging station. Students may only use charging stations between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends.

Motorcycles, mopeds and scooters may be registered like any other vehicle. Registrants of two-wheeled vehicles must park in an identified parking space and follow the rules and regulations. Under no circumstances may a motorized vehicle be stored in any bike rack pad or college-owned building, including student residence, academic, administrative and multipurpose facilities.

Campus Safety must be notified (740-427-5221) immediately if a vehicle becomes disabled on College property.  All information is logged in Campus Safety’s reporting system. Campus Safety does not assist in jumping batteries but has a portable car battery charger for loaning.
