Kenyon College believes that the entire campus community is best positioned to remain healthy when all persons are immunized. Accordingly, students are required to provide vaccine documentation prior to course registration. Please review the immunization requirements and exemption guidance. Follow the instructions at the bottom of the immunization requirements page to upload required documentation into the student health portal.

Your responses may prompt follow-up questions or requests for additional information. If so, we will contact you through a secure message in the PyraMED student health portal. If you do not receive a follow-up message, your form has been reviewed and is complete. We ask that students complete this form at the beginning of each academic year.

Kenyon follows the American College Health Association guidelines for TB screening, based on recommendations from the CDC. This screening questionnaire helps determine if additional testing is needed based on individual risk factors, such as:
• Travel to or residence in a country with high TB prevalence
• Close contact with someone diagnosed with active TB
• Prior positive TB test or symptoms of TB infection
If your responses indicate risk, we will request documentation of prior testing (such as TB blood test/IGRA, skin test or chest x-ray). Many students have already completed this testing. If you have, you can simply upload your documentation into the PyraMED student health portal. You will receive a secure message from us if follow-up is needed. If you do not hear from us, your requirement is complete.
Students are asked to complete this screening annually in order to register for courses.

Cox Health and Counseling Center works with students to make sure they receive needed medication.
At the Cox Health and Counseling Center, we care about students' health and well-being. That's why we offer access to emergency contraception (Plan B) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at no additional cost. Plan B helps prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex. Available over the counter, Plan B does not cause abortion.
Whether the Cox Center is open or closed, emergency contraception is available in the foyer of the building. Students can use their ID to enter the foyer, and can pick up Plan B as needed. Please use the QR code on the packaging to access educational information about the medication.
If you have any questions regarding Plan B, other methods of contraception or your health in general, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via your student health portal in the "Ask a Nurse Practitioner" secure message box or via email at health@kenyon.edu.
The tuition and fees paid to Kenyon cover student visits to the Cox Health and Counseling Center. No additional payment is required to access health or counseling services. However, if you need specialty care, diagnostic testing, labs, referrals and/or medications, you will need to pay co-pays and/or deductibles. Having a copy of your insurance card uploaded into the student health portal allows us to support you in getting the care that you need beyond the Cox Center.
All Kenyon students must be covered by a health insurance plan that covers medical care and health services in the state of Ohio. Students are eligible for and included in the Student Health Benefits Plan facilitated by Aetna unless coverage has specifically been waived. This plan is fully compliant with federal standards and is required for all full-time students who are not otherwise covered within the state of Ohio. If you are unsure if you have coverage in the state of Ohio through your current insurance carrier, please contact your insurance company directly.
Your primary healthcare provider should fax any important treatment information to either Health or Counseling Services at 740-427-5527.
Student Accessibility and Support Services can assist students and parents/guardians to coordinate accommodations relating to diet, housing, academic needs or transportation while they are here at Kenyon.
Your health and safety are very important to us. All care and support you receive is private. If you see a licensed health professional such as a counselor, doctor, nurse practitioner or nurse, your care is confidential. This means they cannot share your health information with anyone outside of the Cox Health and Counseling Center unless you say it is okay. If you talk to a staff member who is not a licensed health professional, your information is still private and only shared if needed to help you.
We will not share your health information with anyone unless you give permission by completing a Consent for Release of Information Form through your student health portal.
To make sure we can reach you when we need to, you must check and update your personal cell phone number with Kenyon and the Cox Health and Counseling Center at least once a year, or anytime your number changes.
You should also check and update your emergency contact information with the College every year. This helps us contact someone you trust in case of an emergency.
Keeping your contact information up to date helps us take better care of you and make sure we are always able to reach the right person.
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact us.
Our team will make sure your question gets to the right person and respond promptly.
