A warm welcome to all Kenyon parents, both current and prospective.
We are delighted that your child is interested in becoming a member of the Kenyon community; it’s an experience that has been meaningful to our entire family for the past three years.
Ken and I are delighted to serve as Co-Chairs of the 2014-15 Kenyon College Parents Advisory Counsel (PAC). The PAC is the executive body of the Kenyon Parents Association; we provide an active forum for discussion between College administrators and parents. PAC also provides financial support to the Kenyon Parents Fund, which enjoys robust parent participation.
Our daughter, Meredith, is a member of the Class of 2015. Her first introduction to Kenyon was meeting the women’s lacrosse coach; she introduced Meredith to the wonder of Kenyon – a beautiful campus with academics, athletics, and deep sense of community, collaboration, and yes - fun. Meredith is a Political Science Major and a Religion Minor.
As parents of a Kenyon student, we feel all the richer by meeting other parents who share our experience on campus; enjoying theater productions, cheering on our Ladies and Lords on one of the many beautiful fields, visiting the marvelous exhibitions at the Gund Gallery, or simply sharing a meal at one of the wonderful establishments in Gambier.
We hope to see you in October at the Family Weekend. You can choose from various activities: attending classes, concerts and drama productions, athletic events, and reception with faculty. You are also encouraged to join PAC’s meetings that will take place during Family Weekend. You can make a difference to Kenyon – speaking to prospective parents, providing career-counseling to upperclassmen, sharing your expertise with professors and students or supporting Regional Parent Volunteer efforts.
We are gratified to collaborate with fellow parents, faculty and administrators to fulfill one singular mission: to ensure that our students receive the highest caliber Liberal Arts College experience.
See you on Middle Path…
Tamra and Ken Bentsen P’15
