Your K-Card is your official Kenyon College ID. It functions as:

  • Student or employee ID
  • Residence hall and building access card
  • Library card for checkout and printing
  • Campus debit card (for students): purchases at the Kenyon College Bookstore and select local businesses

Carry it at all times.

New Students / Employees

• Your K-Card will be issued at start of employment or enrollment.

• A photo is required (online upload).

• Email cardoffice@kenyon.edu from your Kenyon email account once your photo has been uploaded.

• You will be notified once your card is ready for pickup at Chalmers Library circulation desk.

Upload or Update Your Photo

• Go to kcard.kenyon.edu.

• Log in with Kenyon credentials.

• Select “Submit ID Photo.”

Photo Requirements

• Submit a recent, color photo (taken within the last 6–12 months).

• Face the camera directly with your full face visible and centered.

• Ensure even lighting with no shadows or glare.

• Remove hats, sunglasses, or items that obscure your face.

Photo Guidelines

• Photo must be clear, in focus and high resolution.

• Do not use filters, heavy editing or altered images.

• Avoid busy backgrounds, group photos or cropped images.

• Only you should appear in the photo.

• No headphones, props or distracting objects.

File Specifications

• Accepted formats: JPG.

• Ensure the image is properly oriented (not rotated sideways or upside down).

• If you do not see that the photo was accepted, try cropping the image in K-Card after uploading.

• Report your K-Card as “Lost” at kcard.kenyon.edu.

• Email: cardoffice@kenyon.edu.

• Pick up your replacement K-Card at the Chalmers Library circulation desk.

• There is a replacement fee of $20, charged to your student account

You are responsible for any charges made with your K-Card before reporting it lost.

For students, your K-Card can function like a prepaid debit account.

Add Money

• Through your tuition bill (optional deposit)

• At the Kenyon College Bookstore (cash/check)

• Official payment system

Check Balance

• Ask the Bookstore cashier

• Log in to kcard.kenyon.edu

Key Rules

• No overdraft (charges require balance)

• Funds roll over year-to-year

• Refund issued after graduation or withdrawal

Where You Can Use Your K-Card

• Campus locations (Bookstore, Village Market, etc.)

• Other local businesses (restaurants, shops, etc.)

• Tap your card on a reader to unlock doors.

• Access depends on your role and permissions.

• Email cardoffice@kenyon.edu with any access issues.

Visitor or Contractor Access

• Requests are handled through the Kenyon Maintenance Department: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., at 302-B College Park Street.

Student Organizations Building Access

• Use the K-Card Access Form found on KCon.

Special Event Access Request

• Use the Event Service Form.

• Ensure you complete the Space Access (outside of regularly scheduled building open hours) section near the end of the form.

• If you are hosting an event in Archon Auditorium in Oden Hall, please request the interior doors to the auditorium be unlocked — this space is kept locked unless a special request is made.

• You can use your phone to access buildings with the same permissions as your K-Card.

• Mobile ID does not fully replace your physical card.
