What is a project?

A project is a temporary and planned endeavour with a defined start and end date that follows guidelines and creates a unique product, service or result based upon specific, agreed-upon outcomes. A project is not an ongoing operational activity but delivers something new or significantly modified.

At Kenyon, IT projects include but are not limited to:

Software implementations, developments and significant modifications
Hardware implementation and upgrades
Classroom technology design and restructuring
Network infrastructure installations and configurations
Cloud implementation and migrations
Data management and analysis projects
Cybersecurity and access management implementations

Projects go through a review process governed the Strategic Technology Initiatives Committee (STIC). This team prioritizes project requests each semester from across our campus. Projects are approved, at minimum, one semester prior to the start date of the project. Please fill out this form to submit your IT project request.
