This schedule provides an overview of general Commencement Weekend activities.
Thursday
- 10 a.m. Mandatory Commencement and Senior Sing rehearsal for seniors. Caps and gowns will be distributed at this time on the Toan Track in the Lowry Center.
- 3 - 10 p.m. Registration and information center open.
- 5 - 7 p.m. Dinner in Peirce Dining Hall servery.
- 7 - 8:15 p.m. A Conversation with Paul Tazewell at the Woodward Opera House in Mount Vernon. Space is limited, tickets must be reserved prior to attendance.
Friday
- 7:30 - 9 a.m. Breakfast in Peirce Dining Hall servery.
- 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. Registration and information center open.
- 9 a.m. Baccalaureate rehearsal (student speakers and platform party only).
- 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Phi Beta Kappa Induction Ceremony, Rosse Hall Auditorium
- 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Lunch in the Peirce Dining Hall servery.
- 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Lunch for KEEP/STEM/REACH seniors and their families in the Alumni Dining Room on the lower level of Peirce Hall.
- Noon. The emergency siren is tested at noon every Friday. Do not be alarmed.
- 1:30 p.m. Baccalaureate service in the Toan Track at the Lowry Center.
Doors open at 1 p.m. - 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. President's reception for seniors, families and guests in the Multi-Activity Court in the Lowry Center.
Schedule update: Due to the possibility of Saturday thunderstorms, Senior Sing will take place Friday at 3:15 p.m. on the steps of Rosse Hall following the Baccalaureate ceremony and president's reception.
- 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. "Using Art to Foster Observation Skills in an Introductory Biology Lab" presented by Jennifer McMahon P'24 and Jodi Kovach P'25. View event details.
- 4:30 - 6 p.m. Departmental receptions in various locations.
- 5 - 7 p.m. Dinner in Peirce Dining Hall servery.
Saturday
- 7:30 - 9 a.m. Breakfast in Peirce Dining Hall servery.
- 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Registration and information center open.
- 8:30 a.m. Commencement rehearsal (platform party only).
- 9:45 a.m. Seniors, faculty and staff line up for the ceremony procession.
- 10 a.m. All guests must check out of their residences and turn in room keys at the registration and information center.
- 10:30 a.m. Commencement ceremony, Toan Track, Lowry Center. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. A boxed lunch picnic will immediately follow the ceremony. Boxed lunch tickets will be available while supplies last at the registration and information center.
Schedule Update: Senior Sing has moved to Friday at 3:15 p.m. With this change, seniors and guests are encouraged to pick a spot to meet up following the Commencement ceremony. Bus and golf cart shuttles will be running continuously from the Lowry Center to Ascension Hall following the ceremony.
- 7 p.m. College residences close. All students must be finished packing and out of their residences. Room keys must be turned in at the express check-out table in the Kenyon College Bookstore or at the Office of Residential Life in Gund Commons.
