What are the program dates?

June 12 - July 1, 2022.

What are the eligibility requirements?

The program is open to motivated and socially mature rising junior and senior high school students. Because of the large number of applications, admission is highly selective. It is based primarily on the student's application essay, GPA and a teacher's recommendation.

What is the program format?

Two sessions are held over the three-week period, one for rising juniors and one for rising seniors. Juniors will take courses in U.S. history and creative writing, and seniors will take neuroscience and African American history or physics and religion. Each class will meet for three hours each weekday. In addition, all students will take a studio art class, twice a week.

How does housing work?

Participants live in Kenyon residential halls. The men will stay in one dorm and women in another. Careful supervision is provided by the director, staff and residential assistants. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all students will had their own rooms in the summer of 2021. We continue to monitor federal and state guidelines and will house students accordingly in 2022. Each student will be provided with a set of linens on arrival and at the mid-point of the program.

What do students do for fun?

Recreation time is scheduled for students each night. Activities include scavenger hunts, kickball, nature walks, and discussions with college students about college life. Weekends offer opportunities to go to the movies, dance, play pool or ping pong, and more. We will also produce a newsletter, a yearbook and the "no-talent" talent show.

How much does the program cost?

The total cost, including tuition, accommodations and all meals is $3,500.

Is financial aid available?

Yes. To apply, fill out and submit a scholarship application when completing your electronic Camp 4 application. The form requires a parent/guardian signature.
