Orientation at a Glance

Saturday, Aug. 24

Welcome to Kenyon! Saturday's schedule includes New Student Check-In and the Fall Orientation Kick-Off at the Lowry Center, information about Kenyon support services, meetings with your Orientation Group and Community Advisors, and a community-building event in the evening.

Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024

Opening Convocation welcomes new students, followed by the New Student Sing; families are welcome and encouraged to attend before departing the campus. Sunday also includes faculty advising meetings, language placement exams and the Kenyon Karnival, an evening of arcade games, snacks, music and prizes.

Monday, Aug. 26 - Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024

Orientation programming for students continues including Orientation Group information sessions, course registration support, academic department presentations, an introduction to fitness classes, and the Convening Dinner on Wednesday evening. Social activities include an interactive game show on Monday, a movie night on Tuesday and an outdoor gathering on Wednesday.

Thursday, Aug. 29

Classes begin, and all students and other members of the Kenyon community are invited to share a picnic dinner along Middle Path from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Learn more about the Community Feast.

Friday, Aug. 30

As the semester gets into full swing, be sure to check out the athletics.kenyon.edu for information about our teams and the full athletics schedule.

Saturday, Aug. 31

Visit the Lowry Center between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for the Student Involvement Fair, which includes lunch (the Peirce Hall servery will be closed). Learn more about the many ways to get involved outside the classroom and meet representatives from student organizations, offices and community partners. You can also browse information online about student clubs and organizations.


International Student Early Arrival

International Pre-Orientation

International Pre-Orientation (Pre-O) is hosted by the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) for new international students. New F-1 and other visa holding international students are required to attend International Pre-O. Domestic students who reside abroad and U.S. Permanent Residents are invited to attend International Pre-O and should contact the CGE (cge@kenyon.edu) if they plan to attend.

  • Tuesday, August 20 - Friday, August 23: International Pre-O programming for students

Arrival Information for August 19

  • New international students arriving by their own transportation: Please plan to arrive at Kenyon between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • New international students arriving on CGE shuttles. Please schedule your flight to arrive at the Columbus International Airport (CMH) by 8 p.m. on August 19 to take a  shuttle. The Center for Global Engagement (CGE) will collect flight information and schedule shuttles in early August. Please note that the CGE is only able to transport new international students on CGE shuttles; any parents or guests will need to arrange their own transportation to Kenyon.

Save the Date for Family Weekend

We hope you will join us October 18 - 20 for Family Weekend. Events will include student performances, athletic competitions, panel discussions and more! Registration will open in late August.
