The Office of Residential Life is supported by a student staff of Community Advisors. Community Advisors, or CAs, are student leaders who build community in their assigned residential areas. CAs are responsible for putting on social events for their communities, maintaining community standards, and providing resources and support to their residents. Each community is a little different and the CAs provide an excellent mix of skills, interests and identities to their area of campus. The CA position is a stand-out leadership position at Kenyon and teaches students a variety of transferable skills including mentorship, role modeling, time management, event planning and navigating interpersonal relationships.
CA recruitment begins at the start of the spring term, with interviews beginning in February. We aim to wrap up the process before spring break begins.
Students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and who are in good academic and conduct standing are welcome to apply to be CAs.
The CA selection process for the 2027-28 will be live in January 2027. Position application and details can be found on Handshake. Please note that there are two sections to the application. Students will need to complete the Handshake section and the Qualtrics section, which is linked in Handshake. “Working as a Community Advisor, I have found the role on campus to be one of the most fulfilling! It is so rewarding to build meaningful relationships with your residents as well as creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces that feel like a second home. While there are a lot of expectations for the role, overall I take great pride in knowing I contribute to cultivating a positive campus environment!”
“Being a CA is not only about keeping students safe and fostering community, it is about discovering yourself amid the energy and chaos of student life, and trust me, it leaves a lasting impression.”
