Option housing is for students who are unable to select a room and are unable to completely fill a multi-person living arrangement. Option housing is not filled by groups, but by individual students who chose one space in a double, triple, apartment, or suite.

Students without a group will not be able to select housing other than single rooms during the general housing selection. Option housing provides a solution.

Selection Process

Option housing selection will take place on a designated date after the class selection times at the end of Housing Selection.

Students who were not able to form a group or select a room during general Housing Selection should participate in the option housing selection process. They will be able to select a bed online in Residence during the Option Housing Selection time.

Students who selected a room during the general selection process will not be able to participate in the option housing process.

Option rooms may be mixed gender, and students may share a common space/bathroom with someone of any gender. If the possibility of mixed genders and/or College approved animals (emotional support animals or service animals) is a concern, students should consider an option room in a residence hall instead of an apartment. Manning and Mather Residence Halls are animal-free and have option rooms available.
