COVID-19 Update

When traveling for Thanksgiving break, be aware of COVID-19 conditions at your destination and take appropriate precautions. Testing before returning to campus is strongly recommended

Date

Kenyon has had no new student case reports for over three weeks, but with Thanksgiving travel away from campus, it is important to remember that COVID-19 cases have been rising in some regions. With only two weeks of classes after Thanksgiving break, a rise in cases could be very disruptive to the end of the semester. We encourage everyone to take appropriate precautions. If you are traveling, you should check the COVID-19 Community Level of your destination and follow the guidelines for those conditions. Before returning to campus, we strongly encourage you to test, and if you test positive, to complete your isolation off campus if at all possible. Before departing campus, you can pick up a rapid test at the Campus Mail Center in Gund Commons.

Thanksgiving break is also a wonderful time to get your flu shot and the bivalent COVID booster if you have not done so already. Both vaccinations will be required as of Jan. 1, 2023 for the spring semester. If you have any questions about these or other required immunizations, please reach out to health@kenyon.edu.

Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving break!

Sincerely,
