Michelle Garcia completed a bachelor’s degree in dance in Mexico. After graduating, she moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio with her husband in 2020. Since then, she has been a featured dancer in the 2022 International Contemporary Dance Festival in Mexico City and the Cleveland Dance Fest in 2024. Her choreography has been featured by the Department of Dance, Drama & Film at Kenyon College. Michelle also enjoys teaching modern dance and choreographing for Central Ohio Youth Ballet productions and the musical theater program at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Her choreography process involves creating and investigating original movements through conversations with her body and soul, rather than controlling them. She embraces her faith and considers it a constant inspiration for her movement. Now that she’s a mom of a beautiful 1-year-old boy, she has started to revisit movement through a playful, curious and healing approach.
