Mehrnaz Siahi joined Kenyon College in 2025 after working at the Rock Mechanics Research Center at Missouri University of Science and Technology. She is a geochemist with extensive experience in clean labs worldwide and a strong background in environmental health and safety, gained through roles in the oil and mining industries in Iran, as well as positions as a lab manager and postdoctoral fellow in Iran and South Africa.
In addition to her research career, Mehrnaz has taught for several years at universities in Iran and South Africa. She holds HAZWOPER, OSHA and DOT certifications, which, combined with her years of laboratory work and academic experience, make her a highly knowledgeable professional serving as chemical and environmental health and safety specialist.
