Jim Lindroth is a percussionist living in Columbus, Ohio, and has been teaching in various capacities since 2014. Jim has a bachelor's degree in percussion performance from the University of South Carolina and masters' degrees in performance and ethnomusicology from the Ohio State University. In addition to Kenyon, Jim teaches percussion at Muskingum University, Gahanna High School and Columbus Academy and performs with various classical, folk and other ensembles in the area.

Along with his extensive background in classical percussion, Jim is an avid fan and performer of various folk music styles, having studied West African drumming, Zimbabwean mbira, Irish bodhrán, Irish tenor banjo, Scandinavian guitar and North and South American folk percussion. Jim takes a holistic approach to music education, hoping to encourage lifelong musicians through social engagement and creative music-making.

When not getting excited about music, Jim can be found drinking coffee, carving wooden spoons, petting his cats, or spending time with his fiancé Sarah.
