Dr. Alice Teall, DNP, APRN-CNP, FAANP, is a visiting assistant professor at Kenyon College and associate professor emeritus at The Ohio State University. A nurse practitioner, educator, author and national speaker with more than 40 years of experience in clinical practice, higher education and healthcare leadership, she has dedicated her career to advancing evidence-based practice, health and well-being, and innovative approaches to healthcare education.
At Kenyon, Teall teaches courses focused on community healthcare, health and wellness coaching, communication, and supporting individuals living with chronic health conditions. She previously served as Kenyon’s senior director of wellness, providing leadership for health services, counseling services and health promotion and advancing campus-wide initiatives to support student health and well-being.
Before joining Kenyon, Teall held several faculty and academic leadership roles at The Ohio State University College of Nursing, including director of graduate health and wellness academic programming and director of the Online Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Her clinical background spans primary care, college health and community-based care across diverse populations.
Teall is co-editor of the textbook "Evidence-Based Physical Examination: Best Practices for Health and Well-Being Assessment" and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and educational resources. She presents nationally and internationally on evidence-based assessment, clinician well-being, health and wellness coaching, telehealth and innovative teaching strategies. Her contributions to nursing education have been recognized with numerous honors, including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Award for Innovation in Professional Nursing Education and The Ohio State University Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Teall and her husband, Tom, live in Knox County and enjoy traveling, gardening and, most of all, spending time with their family and six grandchildren.
