Cost & Financial Aid
The cost of college and how to pay for it can be deciding factors in choosing a school. Kenyon provides financial assistance to approximately 70 percent of our students. Our financial aid program was created with a single purpose in mind: to enable bright, motivated, talented students to enroll at Kenyon regardless of financial standing.
A college education is an investment in your future. The success of Kenyon's graduates and the satisfaction of Kenyon students are testimony to the fact that your investment of time and money will be well spent.
The average annual cost for a student attending Kenyon in 2009-10 is approximately $48,240. This includes tuition ($39,810), room ($3,170) and board ($4,090), and student fees ($1,170). Since all Kenyon students live on campus, room and board are not optional expenses. Other expenses, like going to the movies or out to dinner with friends, aren't included in our average total cost. There are variables that can alter the cost of going to Kenyon, such as different room charges for other housing options. We estimate an allowance for expenses such as books, supplies, and transportation to be about $2,400 for the year.
We want Kenyon to be as accessible as possible to everyone who is admitted. We offer several types of financial aid to students in the form of student loans, scholarships, on-campus employment and other loan options for families.
For those students who qualify for need-based aid and who file both the PROFILE and FAFSA on time, Kenyon will meet 100 percent of demonstrated financial need.
Kenyon offers a limited number of merit scholarships that are not based on need. Merit-based financial aid is administered by the admissions office and is awarded independently of the need-based financial aid process. Kenyon also sponsors National Merit Scholarship finalists, who may be considered along with other top applicants for Kenyon's academic scholarships. Questions concerning merit-based academic scholarships should be directed to the admissions office at 1-800-848-2468.
International students are required to complete the PROFILE (Kenyon code 1370).
