We have retained Opus Partners to assist us in identifying superior candidates to serve as Kenyon’s chief academic officer. Our search partners were on campus on February 19 to gather community input on the qualities to seek in Kenyon’s next provost. They hosted three listening sessions with about 30 faculty and had productive meetings with the provost’s leadership teams, the president’s cabinet and the search committee. We thank you for your many contributions, both in the open sessions and the online survey.

Together with Opus Partners, the search committee has synthesized the input and is crafting what we believe will be a compelling position profile. We look forward to sharing it with you in the coming week and will welcome qualified candidates from within and beyond the Kenyon community.

We will provide updates as we reach key milestones in the search process, while maintaining the confidentiality of candidates, which is essential to attracting top talent. Our aim is to identify finalists by the end of the semester, with the goal of having a new provost in place for the start of next academic year.

On behalf of the search committee, we are honored to be charged with the weighty but inspiring task of attracting, vetting and ultimately recommending a candidate who is a match for the academic excellence and integrity they will find in the Kenyon community.

Sincerely,

Aaron Reinhard, Professor of Physics
