“I find it fascinating that in a world where so much is new, we welcome a new year by singing ‘Auld Lang Syne,’ which is a very old song,” writes Kenyon grad and bestselling author John Green ’01 in his latest book, “The Anthropocene Reviewed.” It’s the rare song that is genuinely wistful — it captures how each new year is a product of all the old ones.”

As the College prepares to ring in 2022, Kenyon musicians performed a rendition of this old classic in one of newest spaces: the Carver Reading Room in Chalmers Library.

Led by music professors Ted Buehrer ’91 and Dane Heuchemer on trumpet, the brass sextet includes Jose Nino '23 (trombone),  Jason Rehg '23 (trumpet), Evan Wagner '22 (bass trombone) and Tom Yoda '22 (French horn).
