Members of the Kenyon community are invited to attend an alumni panel of writers from the class of 2002 who will be discussing how Kenyon shaped their writing and careers.
The panel will be moderated by English professor and Kenyon Writer-in-Residence P.F. Kluge. Panelists will include:
David Bukszpan is the author of "Is That a Word?: From AA to ZZZ, The Weird and Wonderful Language of Scrabble" and "Crosswordese: The Weird and Wonderful Language of Crossword Puzzles." His writing has been published in the New York Times, Harper's, The Paris Review, The Daily Beast, and n+1.
Monica Cure is a Romanian-American poet, writer, and translator. A two-time Fulbright Award winner, she is the author of "Picturing the Postcard: A New Media Crisis at the Turn of the Century," the translator of "The Censor’s Notebook" by Liliana Corobca, and her poems have been published in journals internationally.
Jesse Donaldson was a fellow at the Michener Center for Writers in Austin, Texas. He is the author of "The More They Disappear" and "On Homesickness." His writing has been published in The Oxford American, The Greensboro Review, and Crazyhorse.
Jeremy Hawkins is a French-American poet, researcher and lecturer. He is the author of "A Clean Edge," winner of the 2016 BOAAT Chapbook Prize. His poems were featured in "Best New Poets 2016" and the extended program of the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennial. He is a lecturer at the Strasbourg School of Architecture.
Caitlin Horrocks is the author of the story collections "Life Among the Terranauts" and "This Is Not Your City," both New York Times Book Review Editor’s Choice selections, and the novel "The Vexations." Her writing has been published in The New Yorker, The Best American Short Stories, The PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories, The Pushcart Prize, The Paris Review, Tin House, and One Story. She won the Plimpton Prize and formerly served as fiction editor of the Kenyon Review. She teaches at Grand Valley State University and occasionally in the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College.
P.F. Kluge (moderator) is the author of several novels including "Eddie and the Cruisers," "Biggest Elvis," "A Season for War," "MacArthur's Ghost," "The Day I Die: A Novel of Suspense," "Gone Tomorrow"," A Call from Jersey," and "The Master Blaster." He has worked as a reporter at the Wall Street Journal and as an editor at Life magazine. His writing has been published in Playboy, Rolling Stone and Smithsonian and he is a contributing editor at National Geographic Traveler. As writer-in-residence at Kenyon, Kluge specializes in the reading and writing of American literature.
