For the fifth annual Halloween season, the Writing Center's "Share a Scare" contest is back! In 300 characters or less, we invite writers to tell a spine-tingling story, a creepy comic or a nauseating narrative...
Rules for the Stories
- Each awful anecdote must be 300 characters or less (including spaces and other punctuation)
- Writers are allowed to submit more than one entry
- Terrifying tales must be suitable enough to be displayed in the writing center (avoid being too graphic or NSFW)
- Students are the only participants eligible to receive a prize but all campus partners may enter
- All of these freaky fables will be shared on our social media and in the writing center and be voted on by all (names will be withheld to allow for some equity)
Additional Information
- Deadline: 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 25; voting will begin the following Monday. Submissions can be sent to scanlon1@kenyon.edu.
- Accepted mediums: Comics, poetry, standard fiction are all acceptable
- Contact: Anna Scanlon (she/ her; Writing Center director) at scanlon1@kenyon.edu
