Kathryn Dawdy's recital is not open to the public, but it will be livestreamed for public viewing.

Kathryn is a senior biology major from Woodstock, Illinois. She has played the bassoon for nearly a decade, and was taught by Wayne Kidd and Rich Styles before attending Kenyon. In high school, she played in regional and district honor bands, in addition to the North Suburban Wind Ensemble under the direction of Don Shupe.

At Kenyon, Kathryn was awarded the Music Merit Scholarship. She studied under Bailey Sorton all four years and played in both the Knox County Symphony and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. In her first year, she was selected to play in the Angela Waite Recital. She has also played bass in the Kenyon Jazz Ensemble for four years.

After Kenyon, Kathryn plans on finding any possible opportunities to keep playing bassoon with community bands, orchestras and chamber ensembles.
