Dinh Nguyen

Senior music major Dinh Nguyen will present his senior capstone in choral conducting. The program is a selection of both sacred and secular works spanning from the Renaissance until the 21st century. At the center of the recital are two settings of Salve Regina by Josquin de Prez and Francis Poulenc. The program also includes music by Thomas Vautor, Thomas Tallis, Benjamin Britten, Edward Elgar, as well as arrangements of Chinese and Vietnamese folk songs.

Dinh Nguyen is pursuing a double major in music and political science. Originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Dinh began playing the piano at age 8 and took up organ lessons in 2022 upon his arrival at Kenyon, where he has been studying with Terry McCandless. In fall of 2024, he expanded his organ performance studies under the instruction of Sven-Ingvart Mikkelsen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (Copenhagen, Denmark). During this time, he also participated in masterclasses with Éric Lebrun and Jean-Baptiste Robin. At Kenyon, Dinh has been studying conducting with Benjamin Locke and voice with Cynthia Mahaney.
