ODEI and FiGLI invite you to join us for National First Gen Day on Thursday, Nov. 7! This is a special occasion to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of first-generation college students. Initiated by the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) and the Center for First-generation Student Success, National First Gen Day highlights the experiences of students who are the first in their families to attend college, fostering a sense of pride and community across campuses nationwide.

The celebration will include a panel at 11:10 a.m. in Chalmers Library 320, which will discuss academics, building connections and career exploration.

We will also host a dinner from 5 - 7 p.m. in Peirce Pub for first gen students, staff, faculty and allies.

Please RSVP for dinner.

The celebration is sponsored by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) and the First Gen - Low Income (FiGLI) student group.

National First Gen Day 2024 is Friday, Nov. 8. We are celebrating on Nov. 7 to allow for more participation from students, staff and faculty.
