Join the Departments of Dance, Drama and Film, Music and Studio Art for a screening of the documentary “Monk in Pieces,” which showcases the life of composer and performer Meredith Monk, on Wednesday, Feb.11, at 7 p.m. in Archon Auditorium in Oden Hall.

“Meredith Monk — composer, performer and interdisciplinary artist — is one of the great artistic pioneers of our time, yet her profound cultural influence remains largely unrecognized. Centered around Monk’s music and featuring interviews with Björk and David Byrne, “Monk in Pieces” is a mosaic that mirrors the structure of Monk’s own work, shedding light on her wildly original vocabulary of sound and imagery." Monk's work has been a powerful intersection of art forms. Monk received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement from the Biennale Musica in 2025. Miles Shebar '20, who helped work on the film and whose father Billy Shebar directed the film, will be on campus to introduce the documentary and lead a Q&A following the screening.
