Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science Craig Jackson from Ohio Wesleyan University will visit Kenyon to discuss generatively-designed textiles.

Generative designs are those in which the designer cedes some significant amount of control to an external agent. The aim is to produce interesting designs that are both ordered and random. We present some of the computational, mechanical and mathematical challenges behind our efforts to construct digitally-controlled looms that facilitate generatively designed textiles.

Join us on Tuesday, March 24, at 3:10 p.m. in Hayes Hall 109 to hear this exciting presentation from. We hope to see you there!
