In differential equations (ODEs), students are introduced to the concept of stability. This is often first referenced with equilibrium solutions to autonomous equations and determining whether these equilibrium solutions attract or repel other solutions. In this talk, we discuss stability with ODEs and even partial differential equations (PDEs)! We highlight how stability can be used in research with examples from several research projects focused on groundwater and its interaction with surface-water.

Matthew McCurdy, assistant professor of mathematics and computer science at Ohio Wesleyan University, will join us on campus to share this presentation. Join us on Monday, April 3, from 3:10 to 4 p.m. in Hayes 109 to hear the discussion. We hope to see you there!
