Music major Theo Schwamm '24 will present his Junior Voice Recital accompanied by Christa Brady.
Theodore Schwamm is a junior music major and math minor from Fayetteville, North Carolina, whose academic focuses are composition and vocal performance. He has studied composition with Ted Buehrer and Ross Feller and voice with Jenne Carey, Ryan Pagels and Diane Dingler.
Prior to college, Theodore was selected for the 2018 North Carolina Governor’s School Program in Choral Music, as well as the 2018 NCMEA HS Honors Chorus. A recipient of the Kenyon Music Scholarship, he is a three-year member of the Chamber Singers. Currently, he serves as the Chamber Singers tour manager, a Music Department recording technician and music director of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Along with this, he also serves as assistant music director of the student a cappella group Männerchor and co-president of the student affinity group Queer Masculinities Society.
While at Kenyon, Theodore has performed as a soloist with the Chamber Singers and was invited to perform in the winter 2023 Angela Waite Recital, along with being selected as the recipient of the 2022 American Bach Society Brokaw Grant. In his free time, Theodore enjoys reading and watching reality television and bad movies with friends.
