The Center for the Study of American Democracy welcomes Joe Zogby, the Democratic staff director and chief counsel of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, where he has worked for more than two decades.
Zogby supervises a diverse team of attorneys and professional staff in the Senate’s busiest committee and serves as the chief legal advisor to Democratic Whip Dick Durbin, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee and number two Democrat in the Senate. Zogby has worked on the nominations of eight of the nine Supreme Court justices and oversaw the historic effort to confirm 235 federal judges during the Biden Administration. He has been the lead Democratic counsel on landmark legislation, including the Dream Act, the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010 and the First Step Act of 2018.
