Celebrate intersex awareness and advocacy at an event featuring intersex advocate Pidgeon Pagonis. Join us in Higley Auditorium for an eye-opening event that will help you gain a deeper understanding of intersex issues and the importance of advocacy in this field. Pidgeon Pagonis' work is vital for anyone seeking to support intersex individuals in their lives and who wants to be a part of positive change.

Intersex people are born with sex characteristics that do not conform to typical binary notions of male or female bodies. It is an umbrella term that encompasses a broad range of natural bodily variations. Intersex traits may be visible at birth, during puberty or may not be physically apparent at all.

Pidgeon Pagonis is a rock star in the intersex advocacy movement. Their work challenges preconceived notions about "biological differences" and raises awareness about the unique experiences of intersex individuals. Pidgeon co-founded the Intersex Justice Project (IJP), produced viral informational videos, created art that centers intersex voices, and appeared on the cover of National Geographic's "Gender Revolution" special issue. In recognition of their efforts, Pidgeon was honored as an LGBT Champion of Change by the Obama White House.

This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, QTPOC, Unity House, and the LGBTQ+ Diversity Fund.
