Join the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) for a series of events celebrating Global Engagement Week, Oct. 20 - 24. Global Engagement Week is a week of programming that features intercultural, international or globally-minded activities that are open to students, faculty, staff and community members with diverse interests and experiences.

Schedule of Events

Monday, Oct. 20

  • Fun with Flags: Test your knowledge of world flags with the Center for Global Engagement from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Peirce Hall atrium — prizes for every correct answer.
  • Baklava: Enjoy an evening of baking (and tasting) this beloved pastry dessert at 5 p.m. at the CGE (Hoehn-Saric House). Hosted by EEC and MESA.

Tuesday, Oct. 21

  • Grati-Tuesday: Reflect on how you've learned about the world as a member of the Kenyon community from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Peirce Hall atrium. Hosted by the dean of student student development.

Thursday, Oct. 23

  • International Fellowships: Explore international award opportunities at 11:10 a.m. in Chalmers Library 320. Hosted by the Office of Fellowships and Scholarships, and presented by Assistant Director of Academic Advising Betsy Billiter and CGE Associate Director Jackie Zubin, a Peace Corps alum.
  • Level Up: Study Abroad Meets Career Goals: Learn how to market your off-campus experience to grad schools and employees at 4:10 p.m. in Chalmers Library 302. Hosted by the Career Development Office and CGE.

Friday, Oct. 24

  • OCS Student Panel: Gain deeper insight into the off-campus study experience, including daily life and academics, from a panel of returned seniors at 3:10 p.m. in the Community Foundation Theater. Presented by the CGE.
  • MLL Meet and Greet: Join the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures faculty and students for this annual event at 4 p.m. at the CGE (Hoehn-Saric House).
  • Boren Awards: Meet a representative from Boren to learn about this overseas language and culture study award in Oden Hall, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. and at the CGE, 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Presented by the Office for National Fellowships and Scholarships.
