The Office of Campus Events invites you to join us for Founders’ Day on Thursday, October 13, at 11:10 am in Rosse Hall Auditorium. Please note that classes will be on an adjusted schedule that morning.

This year’s faculty address will be given by Professor of Women’s & Gender Studies Laurie Finke.

The following individuals and events will be celebrated at the ceremony:

  • The Class of 2026 and new transfer students will take the Matriculation Oath, marking the official matriculation into the family of Kenyon College
  • The Bishop Philander Chase Medal will be awarded to Acting President Jeff Bowman, Professor of Mathematics Judy Holdener and the Thomas S. Turgeon Professor of Drama and Film Jon Tazewell for 25 years of distinguished service
  • Middle Path Medals will be awarded to Carmen King and Julie Miller for their outstanding contributions to the community
  • The recipient of the 2022 Faculty Advising Award will be announced
  • The Founders’ Memorial will recognize members of the Kenyon community who have passed in the last year.

Directly following the ceremony, the class tree — the traditional first-year gift — will be planted and the name revealed. The Matriculation Book will be available for signing in the Carver Reading Room of the Chalmers Library until 4:30 p.m. The book will be available in Special Collections and Archives (located on LL1 of the library) for a week following Founders’ Day for any student who has not been able to sign it.
