The current staff members of the Kenyon Collegian are hosting a conference for students and the campus community, including alumni who worked on the newspaper and those in journalism and related fields today.

 

Conference Details

The conference will provide opportunities for networking and reconnecting, headlined by a panel discussion with distinguished alumni in journalism — including Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of Bloomberg News Matt Winkler ’77 P’13 H’00 — as well as a networking lunch with the current staff and open house of the Collegian offices in Peirce Hall.

Your free registration includes the Thursday evening panel as well as a networking luncheon and open house with Collegian alumni and staff Friday, Oct. 24.

This event is generously underwritten by the Collegian Endowed Fund and is free to attendees.

Panel Discussion

The panel discussion in Archon Auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. will be moderated by Collegian editors and will feature:

  • Beth Bennett '96, associate dean and professor of journalism, Northwestern Medill
  • David McCabe '14, technology reporter, The New York Times
  • Erin Mershon '12, deputy media editor, The New York Times
  • AJ Rourk ’03, director of operations, The New Yorker
  • Emma Specter ’15, culture writer, Vogue

Networking Lunch

Free networking lunch for registered students and alumni. Find your field by table and make connections over the provided lunch. No formal program. Drop-in to meet and eat between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Alumni Dining Room. Registration required.
