Please join us in Oden Auditorium (L100) on Jan. 30 for a Common Hour conversation between President Julie Kornfeld and Harvey Lodish'62 H'82 P'89 GP'21. Julie Kornfeld was appointed Kenyon's 20th president in June 2023. Prior to assuming the Kenyon presidency, Kornfeld served as vice provost for academic programs at Columbia University and as vice dean for education at Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health, where she was also an associate professor of epidemiology. A skilled epidemiologist and devoted educator, Kornfeld has taught numerous courses in public health and medicine and advised students across disciplines looking to improve the health of their communities and our global society.

Dr. Harvey Lodish has been a leader in molecular cell biology and a biotechnology entrepreneur for over five decades. He received his bachelor's degree from Kenyon in chemistry and mathematics and his Ph.D. in genetics from Rockefeller University. He's a founding member of the Whitehead Institute at MIT and the lead author of the molecular cell biology textbook. Lodish has been a major supporter of Kenyon over several decades, advocating for the College and generously contributing to scholarships and professorships. As an emeritus trustee, his dedication to Kenyon has had a significant impact on the institution.
