Chenxing Han’s recent book, "Be the Refuge" addresses the imbalance in representations of  Buddhism in American that has over-emphasized white practitioners (often famous figures) over Asian Americans.  In this reading from her book and in conversation with Professor Joy Brennan, we will hear the stories of the Asian American Buddhists she interviewed and talk with her about her writing and her project.

We recommend listening to a podcast episode with Han in advance of the Table, available here: https://beherenownetwork.com/ethan-nichtern-the-road-home-ep-53-be-the-refuge-with-chenxing-han/
Copies of Han's book are now available in the Kenyon Bookstore, as well. We look forward to a lively discussion about Asian American Buddhists.
