Colleen Garland transitioned to the part-time role of principal gifts officer in July 2025 after seven years leading the College's Advancement Division as vice president. In this role she oversaw the most successful comprehensive campaign in college history, Our Path Forward to the Bicentennial, which raised $532 million for Kenyon and resulted in the creation of the West Quad, revitalization of the Village of Gambier, renovation of Bexley Hall into student housing and the addition of two new South Campus residences, Thomas and Winkler Halls, in addition to adding $110 million to the endowment for scholarships.

With more than 30 years of experience in higher education and other mission driven institutions, Garland has a track record of leading teams to new levels of excellence. She was the chief architect of Ohio Wesleyan University’s $200 million Connect Today, Create Tomorrow campaign as vice president; she led the development teams for 13 colleges and units at The Ohio State University as assistant vice president; and she cut her teeth as a major gifts officer at Denison University. Garland is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in organizational communications.
