Welcome to the Career Development Office!
Our mission is to facilitate your career success. Visiting our website is a good first step. Our staff is eager to help you identify career interests, gain experience, prepare to further your education, and plan a strategy for a job search.
The Career Development remains dedicated to supporting you in your professional goals during this time. Here are ways in which you can engage with the CDO and our services:
Schedule video and phone advising appointments: Although in-person appointments are suspended, counselors are available Monday through Friday for appointments via phone calls and video conferencing. Log into Handshake to schedule an appointment.
Request virtual feedback on application materials: Submit professional documents, such as graduate school essays, resumes, and cover letters, to the Professional Document Feedback Request Form and receive analysis from a member of the CDO team in your inbox. For help getting started on your resume and cover letter, visit the CDO’s career resources website.
Connect with alumni and parent mentors on the Kenyon Career Network (KCN). Develop relationships with your Kenyon network by scheduling informational phone calls with mentors in the KCN. A guide to informational interviewing is available online: Networking and Informational Interviews.
Stay informed about CDO events. Although many spring CDO events will not take place in person, our team is exploring virtual alternatives. For updates on these events, and other CDO news, follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
The Career Development Office is here to provide you with programs, services, and opportunities that allow you to explore how your academic and personal interests may align with your professional opportunities, starting in your very first semester on campus. We also provide assistance navigating applications for on-campus student employment, internships, full-time employment, and graduate school programs. You will be able to take advantage of on- and off-campus interview opportunities and employer information sessions. Please use the navigation to dive into our resources and schedule an appointment with a counselor in Symplicity.
