Lewis Hall is located on the north end of campus and places you in a prime location to take advantage of the open green space that makes up "the first-year quad." Built in the 1950's, it is among the many buildings on the north end of campus with classic architecture and a great deal of history.
Lewis is co-educational by hall--men and women living on opposite ends of hallway wings. As with all first-year residence halls, Lewis is a smoke-free and alcohol-free living area. In addition, Lewis Hall is also animal-free and is open during breaks.
Lewis has recently been remodeled so there are new beds, dressers and desks, new flooring in the rooms and new carpeting in the halls and lounges. The rooms are fairly large, so you can rearrange the furniture if you like. Lewis is known for keeping warm in the winter but also stays fairly warm in the fall and spring, so you might want to bring a fan to keep cool. Each room has a large window, which allows for great natural light, with sections that open. A reading lamp is suggested.
Lewis has a main lounge equipped with comfortable furniture, microwave oven and vending machines.
