Counseling therapy groups will meeting in the Counseling Center conference room 202 unless otherwise noted.
4 - 5 p.m. Marijuana, Choices and Consequences (Mike Durham) This educational group explores potential usage and opportunities to develop strategies for harm reduction/risk management with an emphasis on choice.
4 - 5 p.m. Depression (Lindsay Miller and Peter Oduwole). This process group gives students a space to support, listen and learn.
4 - 5 p.m. Art (Sarah Gabric and Libby Ladrach). The art group explores experiences, emotions, memories and perceptions while creating art using a variety of mediums and techniques. Both during and after creating we discuss, process, build self-awareness and foster social bonding.
11 a.m. The Race Space (bi-weekly) (Peter Oduwole) This therapeutic group explores, processes through and discusses the many stressors that come with living in the U.S. as a racial minority and focuses on developing radical self-care techniques as acts of resistance against the many oppressive systems at play in our daily lives.
4 - 5 p.m. Anxiety (Lindsay Miller and Libby Ladrach). This group focuses on acceptance and commitment therapy and techniques and principles to target symptoms of anxiety and stress. This will be a closed group.
4 - 5 p.m. Transgender (Sarah Gabric and Peter Oduwole). This therapeutic group is aimed at supporting, problem-solving, processing and affirming the unique experiences of transgender and gender nonconforming students.
