GAMBIER, Ohio — Elected officials on the state, county and local levels will come together for a panel discussion Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Gund Gallery’s Community Foundation Theater, 101 ½ College Drive.
The panel, titled “All Politics Is Local,” will address current concerns and challenges facing Knox County and how state, county and local governments can contribute to solutions. Panelists also will examine how state, county, city and village issues intersect, said Nancy Powers, assistant director of Kenyon’s Center for the Study of American Democracy (CSAD), which is sponsoring the event.
“One of the purposes of this event is to raise awareness of important areas of daily life that are affected by decisions at these unsung levels of government,” Powers said.
Panelists include State Representative Rick Carfagna, Knox County Commissioner Teresa Bemiller, Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Mavis and Gambier Mayor Kachen Kimmell. CSAD Director Tom Karako will moderate the discussion.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call CSAD at 740-427-5423.
