Welcome to the Kenyon community. You have opportunities to connect with other new students, upper-level students, faculty and staff this summer.
- Schedule a one-on-one conversation with an upper-level student
- Meet other new students virtually and in-person
- Participate in the Outdoors Club pre-orientation program
Your Summer Kenyon Connection
Connect with a Kenyon student one-on-one.
Summer Orientation Leaders are upper-level students who want to help make your Kenyon community experience as welcoming and engaging as possible. As a part of the Orientation Team, Kenyon Summer Connectors will meet virtually with first-year students one-on-one to chat about Kenyon — its traditions, tips for building your Kenyon community, and ways to become more involved.
Watch for an email titled “Class of 2025 - Your Summer Kenyon Connection” for more information.
Student Summer Welcome Receptions
Connect to new students in your region.
Hosted specifically for incoming first-year students, these virtual group meetings are an opportunity to connect with a group of students as well as Orientation Leaders. First-Year Experience welcome receptions will be offered in your region to connect with other students and explore co-curricular activities and academic interests. Note that the receptions are listed in local time zones.
While the welcome receptions are organized by region, if your region time is not convenient, feel free to join a different virtual time that works for you.
Please note: These virtual welcome receptions are student-focused and separate from the virtual welcome receptions hosted by the Parents Advisory Council, which are for parent and families.
Outdoors Club Pre-Orientation: August 15 - 21
Register to connect with your classmates and upper-level student leaders in a fun yet challenging program hosted by the Outdoors Club. Travel to Dolly Sods Wilderness in the Monongahela National Forest of West Virginia for five days of backpacking, camping, and whitewater rafting.
Transfer Students Programming
We will have special programs for all transfer students including virtual connection points this summer. Watch your mail for more information.
Parent Advisory Council Welcome Receptions
Hosted by volunteer leaders on our Parents Advisory Council, in-person events will be held in Ohio, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Illinois. Students are encouraged to attend these in-person events with their families, but please note that the PAC virtual sessions are intended just for parents.
