Kenyon College Dance, Drama & Cinema Club (KCDDCC) presents "Strange Creatures," a new musical with book and lyrics by Associate Professor of Drama Anton Dudley and music by Faye Chiao. The production will be directed by Anton Dudley, with music direction by Rebecca Abbott and choreography by Professor of Dance Julie Brodie.
In 1916, seventeen year-old, Ohio-born poet Hart Crane arrived in New York City to begin a life that was already half-over. Inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge to write a modern myth of America, his ambitions for poetry, booze, sailors, and stardom saw to it that, "nobody was bored when Hart was around." This new musical is at once a raucous ride through the poet's life, a celebration of artistic expression, and a dizzying descent into the darkness of the Roaring Twenties.
Tickets are available through the Bolton Theater Box Office, 740-427-5546, beginning at 1 p.m. on April 4, 2022, and at the door if not sold out.
