Join the Writing Center, Chalmers Library, ODEI, and more campus and community partners to celebrate Douglass Day 2023. Take part in activities, including a raffle and transcribe-a-thon, snag a snack and share our community's connection to Frederick Douglass.

This event will feature a transcribe-a-thon (taking the words of authors that are in type or handwritten form and preserving them electronically) of the works of Mary Ann Shadd Cary, snacks from a local bakery, and opportunities to see Douglass's autobiography from 1855 in Kenyon's special collections. Come at 12 p.m. and stay until 3 p.m. or come and go as you please! Bring a friend and learn more about the work of Frederick Douglass and his contemporaries on his chosen birthday of February 14.
