Faculty and staff moving to Kenyon with a family will find there are many options for daycare and schools.
Kenyon has a childcare center which is located within easy walking distance of campus and serves families with infants through elementary school age. It is also part of the Knox County Head Start Program. Within a 10 or 15 minute drive, there are also at least a dozen other daycares, located in Mt. Vernon and the surrounding area.
Some faculty and staff might instead choose to hire a nanny or babysitter to come to their home. Current faculty and staff who hire or have hired nannies in the past would be the best references.
Gambier is served by Wiggins Street Elementary School, which feeds into the wider Mt. Vernon School District. Wiggins Street Elementary, within walking distance of campus, also collaborates with Kenyon students through a Spanish tutoring program.
