Article 3: Executive Committee

Section 1: Membership

  • a. The Student Council Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Student Life, Vice President for Business and Finance, the Student Council advisor, and the four class presidents.
  • b. The Director of Operations shall provide administrative support to the Executive Committee but shall not have voice or vote.

Section 2: Powers and Duties

  • a. The Executive Committee shall:
    • i. Meet regularly at the accordance of the Student Council President.
      • 1. Members of the executive committee shall be given a 48 hour notice by the Student Council President and/or the Director of Communications prior to meeting times.
    • ii. Prior to the second regular meeting of the Student Council in the fall semester, the Executive Committee shall approve the Student Council President’s appointment of Director of Operations by a simple majority vote.
    • iii. Discuss pertinent student issues.
    • iv. Set the agenda for all regular meetings of Student Council.
    • v. Approve the Student Council President’s creation of ad hoc committees.
  • b. The Executive Committee may not make decisions applicable to the entire campus community; all decisions affecting the entire campus shall be brought to the entire membership of the Student Council for consideration.
