The Peer Mentoring Program seeks to create a supportive, informed community that is aware of diverse opportunities in STEM fields by pairing an upperclassman mentor with a first-year student interested in STEM fields and professional mentoring.

After an initial training session on effective mentoring, mentor and mentee will meet regularly, at least 30 minutes per week, to review progress on personal goals, to discuss strategies to achieve goals, and to update goals to reflect changing ambitions and priorities. Mentors and mentees can also take advantage of special professional-development workshops offered once per semester (e.g. career exploration, running meetings, networking).

Additionally, the Mentoring Program provides students the opportunity to earn community service hours, earn credit for student-leadership development, attend professional development workshops, improve professional communication skills, and to develop a leadership role in the Kenyon STEM community.
