With the exception of the Kenyon-Exeter, Kenyon-Honduras, and Kenyon-Rome programs, if you participate in an OCS program, you do not pay Kenyon tuition and fees for that semester or year. Rather, you pay the sponsoring organization or institution. Full details about billing will be sent to you and your parents during the semester preceding your OCS program. Every student who participates in an OCS program, whether for one semester or the academic year, is charged a $1000 OCS administrative fee.
If you currently receive financial aid from Kenyon, whether scholarship, loan, or Honors Scholarship, it is automatically applicable to OCS programs. The Office of Financial Aid will determine OCS costs and award financial aid based on the cost of Kenyon or the estimated cost of the program, whichever is less. Kenyon faculty or GLCA tuition remission is not transferable.
How much money you spend during your OCS experience will depend on where you go, how you live, and how much you travel on weekends and vacations. It also will depend on internal economic conditions of the country to which you are going and on the strength of its currency against that of the U.S. dollar. Programs have different costs, and different expenses are covered within program fees. Investigate the various programs and their related costs, since price could well be a factor that sways you toward one program rather than another.
