Application Procedures
Applicants to the program must have sophomore standing and, generally, a 3.0 GPA., which they must maintain during the year abroad. Once accepted into the program, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the duration of the sophomore year. Although the program is not restricted to English majors, priority is given to English majors if the number of qualified applicants is greater than the number of available places. Non-English majors should have taken English 103 or 104 at Kenyon.
Applications to the Kenyon-Exeter Program must be completed by February of the student's sophomore year. Students should follow the regular procedures for off-campus study application (refer to the Off-Campus Study website). Applications are reviewed by the Director of International Education, The Faculty Subcommittee on Off-Campus Studies, the Kenyon English department, and the Resident Director of the Kenyon-Exeter Program. Accepted applications are subject to review and confirmation by the University of Exeter. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of February and will then be required to complete a University of Exeter application and additional forms for Kenyon. Students who are offered a place at the University of Exeter are expected to respond directly to the University's Admissions Officer within 10 days of receipt of the offer.
