For aspiring poets. The Robert P. Hubbard Fund and the Department of English are sponsoring a ten-week poetry workshop featuring poet Julie Buchsbaum, librarian and technology consultant at Kenyon. The workshop will be held at the Public Library of Mount Vernon from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each Thursday night from September 18 through November 20 in the multipurpose room. The workshop will include various writing exercises and detailed weekly critiques. Class discussions will focus on techniques that make for compelling writing. Participants will learn about, and experiment with, various poetic forms and styles.

Gambier's premier rummage sale. The annual Harcourt Parish Rummage Sale and Boutique will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, at the Gambier Community Center on Meadow Lane. If you would like to donate items to the sale, please bring them to the Community Center between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 9 and 10. The sale does not include computers, typewriters, furniture, rugs, or items not in working order. If you would like to help as a volunteer the week of the sale, please contact Jane Lentz at 427-2190.

Kenyon best seller: the phone book. The 2003-04 Campus Directory arrived last week, and copies were delivered to the employees who normally receive them. Those who ordered extra copies can pick them up at the Office of Public Affairs; the cost is $3, payable in cash or by personal check made out to Kenyon College. The best times to pick up copies are Tuesday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Emeritus faculty members and faculty members on leave may also pick up their free copies at the public affairs office.
